Week 2
Reviewed by Dr. Humaira Latif, OB-GYN & Ultrasound Specialist
Welcome to week 2 of your pregnancy. Here’s a gentle look at what to expect at 2 weeks pregnant — baby’s size, changes in your body, common 2 weeks pregnant symptoms and a caring tip from Dr. Humaira.
Baby's size
Still no baby — ovulation is approaching around the end of this week.
What's happening
An egg is maturing in one of your ovaries. Your uterine lining is thickening in preparation for a possible pregnancy.
Your body
Estrogen rises; you may notice clearer, stretchier cervical mucus around ovulation.
Common symptoms
- Increased cervical mucus
- Mild mid-cycle twinges
- Higher energy
- Severe one-sided pelvic pain lasting more than a few hours
The fertile window is roughly the 5 days before ovulation plus ovulation day. Regular intimacy every 2–3 days is the simplest approach.
