Welcome to week 30 of your pregnancy. Here’s a gentle look at what to expect at 30 weeks pregnant — baby’s size, changes in your body, common 30 weeks pregnant symptoms and a caring tip from Dr. Humaira.

Baby's size

The size of a large cabbage — about 39.9cm.

What's happening

Baby's brain is developing distinctive grooves and folds. Bone marrow is now fully responsible for red blood cell production. Baby is gaining weight steadily — around half a pound a week from here.

Your body

You may notice more frequent Braxton Hicks contractions as your body prepares.

Common symptoms

  • Strong movement
  • Braxton Hicks
  • Fatigue
  • Swelling
  • Heartburn
When to call your doctor
  • Reduced fetal movement
  • Regular contractions 4+ per hour before 37 weeks
  • Leaking fluid (possible water breaking early)
