Baby's size
The size of a cantaloupe — about 45cm.
What's happening
Baby's lungs are nearly mature. The protective waxy vernix coating is thickening. Baby is likely in a head-down position by now, though some settle later.
Your body
Group B Strep (GBS) screening is often done around weeks 35–37 — ask your doctor if this is planned.
Common symptoms
- Strong movement
- Pelvic pressure
- Backache
- Swelling
- Increasing fatigue
- Reduced fetal movement
- Regular contractions 5 minutes apart or closer
- Fluid leaking
If you're planning to breastfeed, this is a good time to gather some basic information, though there's no need to feel behind — most learning happens after birth with support.
