Week 35
Reviewed by Dr. Humaira Latif, OB-GYN & Ultrasound Specialist
Welcome to week 35 of your pregnancy. Here’s a gentle look at what to expect at 35 weeks pregnant — baby’s size, changes in your body, common 35 weeks pregnant symptoms and a caring tip from Dr. Humaira.
Baby's size
The size of a honeydew melon — about 46.2cm.
What's happening
Baby's kidneys are fully developed, and the liver can process some waste products. Most of baby's basic physical development is complete now — the remaining weeks are mainly about gaining weight.
Your body
You may feel baby 'dropping' lower into your pelvis (lightening), especially in first pregnancies.
Common symptoms
- Pelvic pressure
- Increased urination
- Backache
- Trouble sleeping
- Braxton Hicks becoming more frequent
- Reduced fetal movement
- Regular contractions 5 minutes apart lasting an hour or more
- Bleeding
Your prenatal visits are likely weekly from now — this is normal monitoring, not a sign anything is wrong.
